Payments and Shipping FAQ

September 3rd update: We have received confirmation that customers in the United States have gotten tariffed 10% plus customs clearance fees. Please read this whole page BEFORE ordering from the United States. If tariffs are unpaid, or parcels get seized there are no refunds as this is completely out of our control.

August 25th update:

To all our customers in the United States: We suspect we just shipped our last tariff free order, from every order from now on expect a 10% tariff and customs clearance fees from DHL. You as the importer are responsible for the payment of said tariffs and fees, and any customs requirements from now forwards. Expect delays. We are unable to guarantee any order reaching the United States from this point forwards. We're sorry it's come to this but it's out of our hands. Several European postal services have halted all shipments of parcels into the United States. DHL has formally advised us to inform customers that due to the rapidly changing regulations in the United States we should advise you that any orders placed from the United States are at the customers sole risk and will not be subject to any refunds if they're deemed unreleasable by customs, if duties are not paid, or the items are seized. We've followed all updates closely and have decided to continue serving the United States but informing our customers about the situation. To our knowledge plenty of companies have just suspended their services to the US. You can Google 'de minimis United States' to see news about this whole thing if interested.

Important notice for customers in the United States: Be aware before ordering that due to current, fast changing conditions be aware that the US Government will charge you tariffs and duties outside of GoodBeans' control. You, as the importer, are responsible for said tariffs and any customs clearance fees. Due to fast changing import regulations we do not know exact tariff fees but expect at a minimum 10%. DHL, and all other shipping carriers might also charge additional customs processing fees. We regret this to be the case as we've been shipping trouble free to the United States and many other countries for several years now but due to the rapidly changing tariff and regulatory landscape we're unable to guarantee deliveries to the United States. Be aware that tariffs could also be charged retroactively.

As of August 25th, 2025 we have not received information from any customer in the United States about being charged tariffs but this could change at any time, including retroactively. The UNITED STATES de minimis exception is scheduled to end on August 29th, 2025. By placing your order you agree that the payment of tariffs and any fees related to custom processing are solely the responsibility of the importer (you).

This affects every order of goods from abroad into the United States regardless of value, origin, or country of manufacture.

All of our packs offer DHL Express Shipping to Zone 1 countries (All of the Americas from Canada to Argentina including the Caribbean). For remote areas an additional fee does apply by DHL, it tends to be fairly high and depends on how remote the area is, we suggest emailing us first. Shopify does not automatically recognize these areas, we'll contact you with options if this happens. For the same fee we're happy to use regular mail service but for DHL an additional fee would apply.

DHL as per their terms of service will attempt delivery once, if there's no one to receive the parcel they'll leave a notice attempt delivery a second time the next working day. If there's no one to receive the parcel the second time they'll leave a notice and hold the parcel at their nearest distribution center for pickup for 5 days. After 5 days DHL reserves the right at their discretion to return or destroy a parcel. There are no refunds if the parcel is determined as undeliverable by DHL and not picked up from their distribution center according to their terms. This is a worldwide DHL policy and we have no control over it.

To Canada and the USA expect 4-5 business days for delivery. A tracking code is provided for all shipments. For all other countries in the Americas expect 7 business days for delivery.

There is an additional charge automatically calculated for Europe and Asia. We ship with DHL for Europe or Asia except to Spain, Japan and South Korea. It is your responsibility before ordering to know if your local customs regulator allows for roasted coffee delivered for personal use. Europe or Asia takes 7-8 days on average with DHL. We are able to ship to Japan, South Korea and Spain with regular mail. If you order to these countries you will not receive DHL shipping but regular post which takes 20-30 days on average.

While we ship to most countries in the world we do have exceptions for customs regulations including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Spain and South Korea. We've had issues shipping to Germany, technically it should all be allowed but parcels seem to require additional customs processing leading to long delays, be aware before ordering to Germany. Due to carrier restrictions we are unfortunately unable to ship to Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela and the Russian Federation.

All inbound customs requirements and potential duties or delivery fees collected by national postal and customs regulators are the responsibility of the customer as Good Beans SAS de CV does not have any control or input over those.

We are unable to provide any refunds for orders if they arrive to your country and are marked as undeliverable and not picked up from the post office/DHL within their  time periods (usually 15-30 days depending on the country).

One of the questions we get is why we don't sell single bags and it's really for your benefit. We're happy to sell you a single bag but essentially the DHL shipping costs the same up to 2 kg so we try to get as much coffee as possible of our offerings into the 2 kg limit.

Regular mail does allow us to ship single bags but delivery times are longer. For the US and Canada is 15 day delivery on average with regular mail at a cost of $14. If interested in arranging a single bag delivery feel free to email us.
